Forum RIP (sob)

Post  Bill on Sun Oct 25, 2009 4:35 pm

I thought that this forum was really good idea but it appears to have died the death.

Mind you, the website also seems to have stopped in its tracks. No mention of the new Clerk, no minutes since August. Need I go on?

I am still the only one contributing to this forum. What really surprises me is how many people actually read it but don't contribute. Come on you lot out there! Very Happy

Smile Well done to Fleetwood Town Council.
Can i just say- its great to be a member of this site, hopefully once its updated with more information and maybe some history about the town it will soon be flooding with members.
I think its great that we have our very own website to shout about, but i really do think that by advertising/word of mouth travels far- that this group again would be in updated with posts.

I for one- not being born and bred here in fleetwood, want to learn more about our town past and present.
And im sure our younger generations would also be interested.

On the 26th i attended your meeting held at fleetwood library- as it was my first- i think it very well planned and organised. can i also say a huge thanks to Janet Purle (clerk), who responded to my email, with great detail .And i look forward to youre next meeting.

Many thanks, jennie5

regarding site

Post  jennie5 on Fri Jan 29, 2010 8:35 am

Hi Bill
i think there could be alot more done regarding promoting this site, if permission granted-- i'd like to paste a link on a few sites i know very well within the northwest community.
I think its a site we should feel proud of- so i would recommend it first to family, friends and neighbours first- before posting onto other sites.
what do you think??

I certainly think that the main problem is that it is not well enough known. Perhaps a mention in the Fleetwood paper and the free mags (Made in Fleetwood etc) might help. I am still a little puzzled as to why the people who are registered on the forum do not participate. (except you and me. Smile ) Is the existence of the website ever mentioned at the Council meetings? I have not been to one yet.

hi bill

yes i certainly think it would help if advertised to free local papers- cant understand why a mod hasnt thought of that??.iv only attended 1 council meeting- and it wasnt mentioned then- again i cant understand why not. I ll post on a few mums sites that i know and highly recommend,im sure we'r bound to get a little interest. Maybe if it was mentioned also at local community centres(internet access available) and our local library should also be promoting this too- im sure then we'd have a few more disscussion topics for the older community also. I ll do my best to persuade people to come and join and talk about all and everything, lol Very Happy
